Seismic > Response Spectrum

Definition of the parameters describing the earthquake event (direction and intensity of the  excitation (base movement), relevant response spectra). The definitions refer to the earthquake event currently marked in the upper table.

SettingDescription
d, v, a (Option)
SettingDescription
d The excitation and the response spectrum are defined in terms of displacements
v The excitation and the response spectrum are defined in terms of ground velocities
a The excitation and the response spectrum are defined in terms of ground accelerations
Vec-Vx, Vec-Vy, Vec-Vz The components defining the design value (peak value) of the amplitude of the ground displacement, ground velocity or ground acceleration respectively.
Damp-Fact Damping factor - ratio between actual and critical damping. The value specified in this menu is used for calculating the correlation factors for the combination rules DSC, CQC and CQCX,    and specifies, for which damping ratio the specified spectrum is valid.
Var-Name Name of the table characterizing the respective response spectrum.
Note: Different response spectra for different damping ratios can be assigned to the considered earthquake event. The input values for specifying the direction, intensity and type of the excitation are only relevant in the first line of the table. Any differing entries in the ensuing lines are ignored. The definition of damping-dependent response spectra allows for assigning in the calculation action RespS different response spectra dto theindividual modes.
